What is GPS?
Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from the constellation of 27 satellites and their ground stations. Of the 27 satellites, 24 are in use with the other 3 being spares. The United States military developed and implemented the GPS network to function as a military navigational system but now everyone can use it free of charge.
What is a GPS tracking unit?
A GPS tracking unit is a device that uses the Global Positioning System to determine the precise location of a vehicle, person, or other asset to which it is attached and to record the position of the asset at regular intervals.
Do I need to install software onto my computer?
No, our tracking system is a web based system; therefore you only require access to the internet.
How many users can I have with access to the online system?
You can have an unlimited number of users on tracpoint. Each user will be given their own secure login.
What type of maps do you use?
We use the most up to date Google Maps and also have the Google Street View function.
